In a positive development in the nation's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the pan-India recovery rate of patients yesterday (5 September) surged to an all-time high, with record 70,000 patients being discharged from treatment in a single day, reports Times of India.
A total of 70,072 patients were discharged yesterday, taking the recovery rate to 77.23 per cent. Also, the case fatality rate (CFR) fell to stand at a record low of 1.73 per cent.
It should be noted that the daily recoveries have been registering a new high with each passing day. On 1 September, for instance, the total recoveries for the day stood at 65,081. On 3 September, the tally stood at 68,584.
With yesterday's figures, the total tally of recoveries so far has crossed 31 lakh mark, reaching a total of 31,07,223. It marks an exponential rise in recoveries since May when the total recoveries stood at 50,000.
It should also be noted that with the increasing recoveries, the total number of active cases stand at 8,48,395 as per the data shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
