4,000 Women From Uttarakhand To Join As Technicians At Tata’s Manufacturing Units In Tamil Nadu, Karnataka

The Tata Group is reportedly planning to recruit 4,000 women technicians from Uttarakhand.

These technicians will be employed at the company's components manufacturing and assembly units in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The recruitment exercise will be facilitated under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).

The Tata Group on Monday (26 August) informed the Uttarakhand's state planning department about the upcoming recruitment process, Economic Times reported.

This comes amid Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's ongoing efforts to boost employment opportunities for the youth of Uttarakhand.

The recruitment drive is focused on Tata's facilities in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and Kolar, Karnataka.

Candidates who have completed class 10 or 12 are eligible for NAPS, while those with class 10, class 12, or ITI diplomas are eligible for NATS.

The recruitment process will include tests, with selected candidates taking up roles as shop floor technicians.

Apart from a fixed salary, the Tata Group will offer additional benefits such as accommodation, food, and transportation to the selected candidates.

These women technicians will be employed under the provisions of the Apprenticeship Act of 1961, with appointment letters issued according to their qualifications under the NAPS and NATS schemes.

The recruited women will take on roles as shop floor technicians, operating sophisticated automated machinery in precision electronics assembly under supervision.
