47.5 Per Cent Voting Till 3 PM, West Bengal And Ladakh Cross 60 Per Cent Mark, Maharashtra Turnout Below 40 Per Cent

47.53 per cent of voter turnout was reported till 3 pm in 49 constituencies of eight States and Union Territories voting in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections today (20 May).

Maximum voter turnout was reported in West Bengal at 62.72 per cent, followed closely by Ladakh at 61.26 per cent. Maharashtra recorded the lowest turnout with 38.77 per cent voting.

Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir recorded around 45 per cent voter turnout. In Bihar, the lowest turnout was reported in Saran where Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter is challenging BJP MP.

Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh reported 53.9 per cent, 48.95 per cent and 47.55 per cent turnout respectively. In UP, the lowest turnout was in the capital Lucknow.
