Telugu actor Allu Arjun appeared before the Chikkadpally Zone police at 11 am today, following a notice issued yesterday (23 December).

The investigation is linked to a stampede that occurred on 4 December at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his film, Pushpa 2, which resulted in the death of a 39-year-old woman, M Revathi, and left her nine-year-old son critically injured.

Police sources revealed that they are working to establish a timeline of events from the moment Arjun left his residence after 9 pm on the night of the incident to his arrival at the theatre.

This timeline is crucial for the chargesheet being prepared, which aims to provide a detailed sequence of events.

The FIR registered in the case names Allu Arjun and the owners of Sandhya Theatre. Arjun, who was arrested on December 13 and subsequently released on bail, was issued a Notice for Appearance by the Chikkadpally police station SHO. The notice, as part of his interim bail conditions, required his cooperation in the investigation.

“The case is under investigation and your presence is quite essential before the undersigned officer to elicit answers from you about the incident and if necessary for visiting the scene of offence, in order to ascertain the true facts,” the notice stated.

Arjun was accompanied to the police station by his lawyer Ashok Reddy, his father Allu Arvind, and father-in-law K Chandrashekar Reddy.

The actor has denied allegations of non-compliance with police directives on the night of the incident, accusing authorities of attempting to tarnish his reputation.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the police maintain that Arjun failed to follow instructions, escalating tensions between the actor and the ruling government.
