After Samajwadi Party (SP) MP's close aide, another leader of the Akhilesh Yadav-led party is facing sexual assault allegations. The accused has been the MP representative of Akhilesh's wife Dimple Yadav.

The accused Nawab Singh Yadav was arrested in Kannauj on Sunday (11 August) night for trying to rape a minor. It is alleged that the minor had gone to him seeking a job.

However, Yadav stripped off her clothes and then tried to rape her. But the victim dialed the 112 emergency number, responding to which, the police arrived in time and arrested Yadav.

Kannuj Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand said that when the police reached Chaudhary Chandan Singh college, it red handedly caught the accused in an objectionable position.

The victim is 15-year-old. She told police that she went to meet Yadav along with her aunt around 8 pm but Yadav did not let them go back. When her aunt went to the toilet, Yadav started sexually abusing the girl.

Yadav was seen on stage with Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the 2024 Lok Sabah election campaign. He is also considered close to Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier, another SP leader, Moeed Khan came under controversy for raping and impregnating a 12-year-old girl in Ayodhya. He is close aid of SP MP from Faizabad, Awadhesh Prasad and was seen in pictures with him.

However, instead of taking action against him, the party demanded a DNA test to ascertain who was the real culprit. The demand for the DNA test was raised by Akhilesh Yadav, his uncle Shivpal and MP Prasad.
