Union Minister of State for Space Jitendra Singh on Saturday (14 June) said that Axiom-4 mission carrying Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla to the International Space Station (ISS) has been rescheduled for 19 June.
The mission has been postponed several times owing to issues attributed to weather, leak of fuel in SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket and a glitch at the ISS.
The Ax-4 mission was initially set for 29 May, after which it was postponed to 8 June, then delayed to 10 June, later to 11 June and on 12 June, a glitch at the space station postponed the mission, NDTV reported.
The minister further informed that the earlier issues which led to the delays have been addressed by SpaceX.
"Launch date of the Axiom-4 mission carrying Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla to the International Space Station is, as of now, rescheduled for June 19, 2025. Also, Space X team has confirmed that all the issues, that led to earlier postponement of the launch, have been duly addressed," Singh said in a post on X.
In a statement, the ISRO said that the liquid oxygen leak observed in the Falcon 9 rocket has been "successfully resolved".
"During a follow-on coordination meeting between ISRO, Axiom Space, and SpaceX, it was confirmed that the liquid oxygen leak observed in the Falcon 9 launch vehicle has been successfully resolved," the Indian space agency said.
"Separately, Axiom Space informed that they are working closely with NASA to assess the pressure anomaly in the Zvezda Service Module onboard the International Space Station. Axiom Space is now targeting June 19, 2025 for the launch of the Ax-04 mission," ISRO added.
