'Animal Instinct, Stalker': What CBI Found After Interrogating Accused Sanjay Roy In Kolkata Doctor Rape And Murder Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has found that the accused Sanjay Roy observed the 31-year-old victim several hours before the crime and then raped and murdered her after finding her alone.

The second-year postgraduate trainee doctor's dead body was found in the seminar hall of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on the morning of 9 August. The case was transferred to the CBI by the Calcutta High Court.

During his questioning by Kolkata Police, Roy had admitted to having seen the victim in the chest medicine ward on 8 August, the day before the incident and the CCTV footage from the ward confirms that.

Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer with unrestricted access to the hospital, was present at the ward around 11 am, the same time the victim and four other junior doctors were also in the ward.

"The CCTV footage captures Roy glaring towards them," the CBI sources told News18. Now, the CBI is questioning the four doctors to find out if anyone observed Roy in the ward at that time.

During the CBI questioning, Roy appeared as a "sexual pervert" with "animal-like instincts" and porn videos on his phone. He showed no signs of remorse while explaining the sequence of events.

Roy had multiple failed marriages and his wife has accused him of domestic violence. His in-laws have also demanded to hang him and alleged that he caused a miscarriage of their daughter.
