As violence continues to escalate in Bangladesh, the Army Chief Waker-uz-Zaman is expected to address the nation soon, according to Prathom Alo, a Bengali newspaper.

On August 4, violent clashes erupted across the country, resulting in at least 300 deaths, AFP reports. Despite the unfolding chaos, there have been no official statements yet.

Protesters have organised a ‘Long March to Dhaka,’ challenging a nationwide curfew that was imposed today. Their demands center around the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In response, Hasina's administration has accused the protesters of “sabotage” and has cut off mobile internet access. The military has also implemented a new curfew that will be in effect indefinitely.

In light of the ongoing unrest, India’s Ministry of External Affairs has issued a travel advisory, advising Indian citizens to avoid traveling to Bangladesh. Those currently in the country are urged to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements, and stay in touch with the High Commission in Dhaka.
