Bhadohi: Minor Domestic Help's Body Found Hanging At SP MLA Beg's Residence, UP Police Suspect Suicide

The body of a 17-year-old domestic help was found hanging in a terrace room at the residence of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Zahid Beg's residence in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi.

The police suspect the girl might have committed suicide. A team of forensic experts and senior officials was sent to the spot by Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Meenakshi Katyayan for further investigation.

"The body has been taken, and post-mortem proceedings are being carried out. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the victim to take the drastic step," Katyayan was quoted as saying by India Today.

Circle officer Ajay Kumar Chauhan said that the girl used to live in a room on the upper portion of the SP MLA's house and the body was found hanging from a fan in the same room.

The girl had been working at Bhadohi Sadar MLA Beg's residence for the past six years. Her family used to dwell in Kanshiram Housing in Mamdev area.

Her body was found by the MLA's family members when they went to check up on her as she had not come out of the room for a long time. They had to break the door to go inside.
