Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav targeted the paper leaks under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government while addressing a rally in Sant Kabir Nagar.

This comes after examination papers for recruitment of constables in Uttar Pradesh Police were leaked in February this year. A strict action from the Yogi government followed.

"All papers in Uttar Pradesh were leaked. BJP deliberately leaked papers so that they don't have to give jobs," Yadav said adding that Shikshamitra also faced injustice.

"When we were in government, we decided increasing compensation of Shikshamitras and wanted to give them permanent government jobs. But we could not return to power," he said.

Yadav stated that even if a special budget provision is needed to include Shkishamitras as teachers in the education department, it will be done and vacant posts will be filled.
