A Pakistani intruder was caught by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel near the international border on Thursday (29 May) in Punjab's Pathankot district.

This arrest comes days after another Pakistani was shot dead by the border-guarding force in Gujarat's Banaskantha.

As per a report by the Times of India, the person was handed over to the Narot Jaimal Singh police station, following preliminary investigation.

The infiltrators have been nabbed at a time when there is heightened vigil at the border in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. During the operation, India struck nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

It was a direct response to the killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam the previous month by Pakistan backed terrorists.
