The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) released its 14th list for Lok Sabha elections on Thursday (9 May), declaring two candidates in Uttar Pradesh.
Shubh Narayan Chauhan is fielded from Kushinagar, where former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Swami Prasad Maurya is contesting on his Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party (RSSP) symbol.
After Maurya did not get any response from INDI Alliance for a seat-sharing arrangement, it was expected that he might enter into a deal with the BSP.
However, Mayawati's latest move has put him into the fray in a four-cornered fight where the BJP candidate is incumbent MP Vijay Dubey.
Samajwadi Party (SP) has fielded Ajay Pratap Singh on behalf of INDI Alliance in Kushinagar. He is the son of former BJP MLA from Deoria, the late Janmejay Singh.
In Deoria, the BSP fielded Sandesh Yadav aka Mister. He is the member of Zila Panchayat. Here, Maurya's RSSP declared S N Chauhan as the candidate.
The BJP has fielded Shashank Mani Tripathi by replacing incumbent MP Ramapati Ram Tripathi. Shashank is the son of former BJP MP Prakash Mani Tripathi.
Congress has fielded former Rudrapur MLA and party spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh on behalf of the INDI Alliance making it a four-cornered contest too.
