The constituencies are Kadi and Visavadar in Gujarat, Nilambur in Kerala, Ludhiana West in Punjab, and Kaliganj in West Bengal.
Following the announcement, the Model Code of Conduct is now in force in these assembly constituencies.

For these by-polls, the Commission has decided to use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) in all polling stations.

"Adequate numbers of EVMs and VVPATs have been made available and all steps have been taken to ensure that the poll is conducted smoothly with the help of these machines," the commission added.
The by-election process will officially begin with the issuance of the gazette notification on 26 May 2025.
Candidates can file their nominations until 2 June, after which the scrutiny of nominations will take place on 3 June.
The last date for withdrawal of candidatures has been set as 5 June.
