The Congress-National Conference alliance is likely to stay ahead in the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Assembly elections but may miss the majority mark, Axis MyIndia Exit Poll has predicted.

Both Congress and the National Conference are part of the Opposition INDI Alliance.

According to the pollster, Congress-NC combine may win 35-45 seats while BJP is likely to secure 24-34 seats in the 90-member J&K Assembly.

The majority mark to form the government in the 90-member assembly is 46.

Meanwhile, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) could win 4-6 seats and the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) is likely to secure 3-8 seats.

In Haryana, the Congress is projected to cross the majority mark and return to power in the state, ending the 10-year long rule of BJP.

According to Axis MyIndia exit poll, the Congress is likely to win 53-65 seats, crossing the majority mark of 46 seats in the 90-member Haryana Assembly, while BJP is expected to win 18-28 seats.

The JJP, which won 10 seats in the last election, may fail to win even a single seat, while INLD-BSP combine is likely to win 1-5 Assembly constituencies.

Meanwhile, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has governments in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Delhi, may also fail to open its account in Haryana elections, the pollster predicted.
