The road connecting Vadodara to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat will be developed as a high-speed corridor.
The Gujarat government has approved Rs 381 crore for the project development.
"Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved Rs 381.16 crore for developing the road connecting Vadodara with the globally renowned Statue of Unity-Ektanagar as a high-speed corridor," the Gujarat CM office said in a post on X on Sunday (18 August).
With the approval, the first phase of the high-speed corridor project will include the construction of a six-lane road with service roads on both sides, extending from the Vadodara National Highway 48 junction to the VUDA limits.
Additionally, the remaining 2.5 km stretch between the VUDA limits and Dabhoi will be upgraded to a standard four-lane road.
The project will include the construction of a six-lane vehicle underpass at Ratanpur Chokdi and Thuvaavi Junction, as well as a four-lane elevated corridor at Kalanpur village and Sinor Chokdi.
Further, the state government also allocated Rs 316.78 crore for the construction of the Ring Road in Vadodara under the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme.
The construction of this 66 km long and 75 meters wide ring road will help alleviate the growing traffic burden caused by the continuous expansion of Vadodara city and its surrounding industrial areas.
