In an all-out attack on Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (8 May) questioned Rahul Gandhi as to how much money they were getting from the industrialists during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a rally in Telangana's Karimnagar, PM Modi highlighted that prior to the announcement of election dates, Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi frequently accused him of favouring prominent industrialists like Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, a narrative that has conspicuously subsided after elections were announced.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi as "Shehzadey of Congress", PM Modi said that he used to repeatedly "chant 'Ambani', 'Adani'..." for years.

"But since the elections are declared, they have stopped abusing Ambani, Adani... Why?," PM Modi stated, suggesting a hypocritical shift in the Congress' stance.

"I wish to ask the Shehzadey of Congress, how much black money have they received from Adani, Ambani? How much the Congress party has 'received' from those industrialists for the elections?," PM Modi asked.

It should be noted that this is the first time PM Modi invoked Ambani and Ambani to attack the Congress.

So far, the Congress and Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the PM and the BJP for favouring the industrialists, accusing it of waiving their loans worth crores but burdening farmers for small loans.
