The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will reportedly construct two flyovers and an underpass in Banjara Hills under the state government’s flagship Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) programme.

The proposed projects include a two-lane unidirectional flyover at NFCL Junction at Banjara Hills, one two-lane unidirectional underpass, and one three-lane unidirectional flyover at TV9 Junction, Banjara Hills.

These works are estimated to cost Rs 368 crore, The New Indian Express reported.

The NFCL Junction flyover will span from Banjara Hills Road No 3 towards GVK Mall. It will be 8.5 m wide, with a 7.5 m carriageway and 0.5 m crash barriers on each side.

The structure will include a viaduct with necessary obligatory spans and reinforced earth (RE) wall approaches.

The TV9 Junction underpass, connecting NFCL Junction and Srinagar Colony, will be 10 m wide with a 7.5 m carriageway and dual footpath-drainage utility ducts. It will also feature an underground sump with a two lakh-litre capacity.

The three-lane flyover from Mugdha Junction to NFCL Junction will be 12 metres wide, including an 11 m carriageway and RE wall approaches.

Standard viaducts, crash barriers, pier protection, and anti-carbonation coatings are also part of the design.

These works reportedly form part of 32 projects under five packages sanctioned by the state government with an administrative outlay of Rs 5,942 crore for the H-CITI programme.

Proposals have been invited for the design, survey, execution, and maintenance of these infrastructure upgrades on an EPC/turnkey basis, with a one-year defect liability period.
