As of earlier trends on 8 October 2034, Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, is trailing from the Srigufwara-Bijbehara seat.

Latest available figures indicate that she is trailing behind National Conference (NC) veteran Bashir Ahmad Veeri by more than one thousand votes.

The 36-year-old Iltija is contesting for the first time and has got the ticket from Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), headed by her mother Mehbooba Mufti.

Srigufwara-Bijbehara is a historic seat for the Mufti family. Her grandfather, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, represented this seat between 1967 and 1972, while her mother, Mehbooba Mufti, won from here in 1996.

She is one of the most high-profile candidates in the election and grabbed headlines for playing to the narrative of victimization of the Muslim community.
