Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (26 July) reaffirmed the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, citing Operation Sindoor as a strong example of decisive political will on the global stage, reported The Times Of India.

Speaking at the eighth National Security Strategies Conference (NSSC), Shah addressed over 800 top officials including DGPs from states and UTs, senior officers from central armed police forces (CAPFs), central police organisations (CPOs), and young police leaders.

The two-day event brought together national security stakeholders and domain experts to deliberate on internal security issues.

Shah emphasised the importance of comprehensive real-time data sharing among security agencies to address the increasing challenges faced by the country as one of the world's fastest emerging economies.

“We must stay more vigilant and tackle problems with heightened awareness. All agencies must make security-first approach, habitual alertness and coordination an integral part of their working methodology,” he stated.

As India climbs to become the world’s fourth-largest economy, Shah noted its growing leadership in technology, green energy, start-ups, and innovation.

He emphasised that India’s rising stature would lead to increasing national security challenges in the years to come.

Stressing that these challenges needed to be tackled through better coordination, he directed the formation of homogenous teams of Central and State agencies to develop strategies, implement and monitor them.

He encouraged the inclusion of tools like Natgrid, Nidaan, iMoT, and CBI’s fugitive database in officer training. Shah emphasised involving young officers in adopting data-driven intelligence systems to enhance security response and ensure national safety.
