The world's largest religious gathering MahaKumbh at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh recorded an unprecedented turnout of over 660 million devotees.

The 45-day long Hindu religious event, which began on 13 January, concluded on Maha Shivratri on 26 February.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in 45 days, 66 crore 21 lakh devotees took holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati in Prayagraj.

"Starting from 13 January on Paush Purnima, the 45-day-long MahaKumbh has witnessed over 66 crore 21 lakh devotees taking the holy dip in the Triveni Sangam until February 26, Maha Shivratri—an unprecedented and unforgettable milestone in world history," CM Yogi said in a post on X.

"The divine blessings of revered Akharas, saints, Mahamandaleshwars, and spiritual leaders have made this congregation a symbol of harmony, sending a message of unity to the entire world," he added.

He also expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, devotees from India and abroad, and Kalpvasis who participated in this remarkable event.

Further, CM also lauded the local administration and management for handling the Kumbh mela and ensuring a systematic organisation.

"Kudos to the Maha Kumbh Mela administration, local administration, police administration, sanitation workers, Ganga messengers, voluntary organisations, religious organisations, boatmen and all the departments of the central and state government associated with Maha Kumbh, as well as all the great people and organisations who helped directly and indirectly, who were responsible for the systematic organisation of Maha Kumbh," he said.

"Special thanks to the people of Prayagraj, whose patience and hospitality mesmerised everyone," he added.
