Maharashtra Records 58.22 Per Cent Voter Turnout By 5 PM As Mumbai Lags; Jharkhand Sees 67.59 Per Cent Voting In Phase 2

Till 5 pm, Maharashtra reported a voter turnout of 58.22 per cent with the lowest turnout in Mumbai City with 49 per cent voting, that has been the case for several past elections.

In the second phase of Jharkhand voting, 67.59 per cent turnout was reported till 5 pm, with the lowest voting in industrial city of Bokaro at 50.52 per cent.

The voting is ongoing for all the 288 assembly seats in the single-phase Maharashtra Assembly elections while polling is being held in 38 remaining seats in the second phase of Jharkhand state polls.

15 assembly seats across four states are also voting in bypolls today (20 November). The lowest voter turnout was reported in Uttar Pradesh's (UP) Ghaziabad at 33.3 per cent.

Only five of nine seats in UP reported voter turnout of over 50 per cent. Over 57 per cent voting was reported from Moradabad's Kundarki and Muzaffarnagar's Meerapur.

In Punjab, the highest voting of 78.1 per cent was reported in Gidderbaha and the lowest of 48 per cent in Chabbewal. Kerala's Palakkad reported voter turnout of 62.25 per cent.
