Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena has declared three Lok Sabha candidates in the last 24 hours. Shinde's son Shrikant has been fielded from Kalyan, a constituency he has represented since 2014.

Former Thane Mayor Naresh Ganpat Mhaske has been fielded from Thane. He will have to face incumbent MP Rajan Vichare, contesting on Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) symbol.

Yesterday evening, Byculla MLA Yamini Yashwant Jadhav's candidature from Mumbai South was declared. She will also challenge a Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate, incumbent MP Arvind Sawant.

While Jadhav came along with Shinde with 38 other MLAs when he revolted against then CM Uddhav Thackeray in June 2022, Sawant is known to be a Thackeray loyalist and is a former Union Minister.

There are six Lok Sabha constituencies in Mumbai and all are going to vote on 20 May. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been fielded by the BJP from Mumbai North.

In a list released yesterday night, Congress fielded Marathi actor Bhushan Patil against Goyal. In the 2019 elections as well, the Congress candidate from Mumbai North, Urmila Matondkar was from film background.

Yesterday morning, Ravindra Waikar was declared as Shiv Sena's Lok Sabha candidate for the Mumbai North West constituency. Here's how he outshines Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Amol Kiritkar.
