In a significant diplomatic outreach, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, underlining India's concern for the region.

Emphasising the enduring historical ties between India and the Middle East, the Prime Minister conveyed his deep apprehension regarding the escalating challenges of terrorism, violence, and the deteriorating security situation in the region.

President Mahmoud Abbas appreciated India's steadfast support and acknowledged the country's principled position on the matter.

In a reassuring gesture, Prime Minister Modi assured that India will persist in providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.

Both leaders expressed their intention to maintain an ongoing dialogue, underscoring the importance of communication and cooperation in fostering stability and peace in the region.
