In a major escalation on the western front, Pakistani military launched multiple drone and munition-based attacks across the India-Pakistan border on the intervening night of 8 and 9 May.
The Pkaistani troops also resorted to ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the Indian army thwarted the drone and missile strikes by Pakistan.
"Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025," the Indian Army said in a statement on Friday (9 May).
Pak troops also resorted to numerous cease fire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said.
"The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and befitting reply was given to the CFVs," the Army added.
While the Army did not disclose specific operational details, the force said that it "remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation".
"All nefarious designs will be responded with force," the statement added.
Pakistan on Thursday night targeted multiple location in J&K, Rajasthan and Punjab, using drones and missiles.
In response, Indian air defence systems shot down multiple missiles and drones in Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota (all in Jammu and Kashmir) and Pathankot (Punjab).
