Jailed conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, it seems, has been hurt by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's statement calling him "country's biggest thug".

“If you think I am the biggest 'thug', why did you accept Rs 50 crore from me,” he asked Kejriwal.

In a letter to Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena, he has made fresh accusations against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.

He has alleged that Kejriwal asked him to collect Rs 500 crore for the party.

In the letter, Chandrasekhar has expressed threat to his life from Delhi's Cabinet Minister, Satyender Jain, who is also lodged in jail and Director General (Prisons) (DG), Sandeep Goel, after his letter to LG on 1 November 2022 became public.

Chandrasekhar's Claims

In his latest letter to the LG, Chandrasekhar has made the following claims:

  • He gave more than Rs 50 crore to AAP which promised to nominate him to Rajya Sabha. The transaction was made to Jain, in the presence of Delhi Minister of Transport Kailash Gahlot at his farm in Asola.

  • He met Kejriwal and Jain at a dinner party hosted by Chandrasekhar at Hyatt, Bikaji Cama Place in 2016.

  • Kejriwal asked him to bring "over 20 people to contribute Rs 500 crore towards his party".

  • He introduced former Bengaluru police commissioner, Bhaskar Rao, to the AAP. He is now heading AAP in Karnataka.

  • After his arrest in 2017 for the "two leaf symbol corruption case", he was lodged in Tihar Jail and was visited by Jain, who held the portfolio of the Jail Ministry, multiple times, asking him if he had disclosed anything related to his contribution to AAP to the investigating agency.

  • Jain asked him to pay Rs 1.50 crore to DG (Prisons), who he said was a loyal associate of his. He forced Chandrasekhar to pay and the total amount of Rs 10 crore was extorted from him, in a matter of two to three months. He added that all the money was collected in Kolkata through Jain's associate.

Sandeep Goel was transferred from the Tihar Jail here, days after Chandrasekhar made the allegations, and the 1989-batch AGMUT cadre officer has been jailed and asked to report to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) for further orders.

Demanding CBI Inquiry

In his letter, Chandrasekhar has requested the LG to direct the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to initiate an urgent probe and allow him to file a first information report (FIR).

He added that before any undue event takes place, he wants AAP to be exposed and that the pressure on him is "getting too much".

AAP has dismissed the entire matter as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conspiracy in the run-up to the Gujarat elections and MCD elections.

The BJP, on the other hand, demanded answers from the Kejriwal government on these allegations of serious nature.
