The announcement was made during his two-day state visit to Mauritius, coinciding with the island nation's National Day celebrations.
Addressing a gathering on Mauritius' 57th Independence Day, Modi underscored the country's strategic importance in the Indian Ocean Region and its growing role in the Global South and Africa.
He recalled the launch of Vision SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) a decade ago, emphasising its role in ensuring regional stability and prosperity.

As part of India’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties, Modi announced India’s assistance in building a new Parliament in Mauritius, calling it "a gift to Mauritius from the Mother of Democracy."
Additionally, Modi will oversee the signing of eight MoUs covering areas such as maritime security, cultural cooperation and community development projects, reported The Hindu.
In a major push for development cooperation, Modi will inaugurate 23 India-backed projects and announce new initiatives for Mauritius' infrastructure and public welfare.
He will also e-inaugurate an Area Health Centre and 20 community projects, constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
