Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (19 April) addressed an election rally in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur.
Presenting his governance record, PM Modi sought the blessings of the people to continue his service to the nation.
Here are the key highlights of his speech:
Accountability and Blessings
Prime Minister Modi emphasised his commitment to showcasing his achievements and sought people's blessing to enable him to continue his service for the nation.
"It's my duty to put forth my work record before the nation. I have come here with my Report Card...I need your blessings! Bless me so that I can continue to work for you, for my country," he said.
Personal Commitment to the Nation
PM Modi said that he has been working day and night to fulfilll the dreams of Indian citizens.
-"I consider you my family! I have been working day and night for you...Your dream is my resolution! Pal Pal, Aapke Naam... Pal Pal, Desh Ke Naam... 24×7 for 2047!" he said.
Focus on Marginalized Communities
The Prime Minister discussed the positive impact of his government's policies on SCs, STs, and OBCs, contrasting their current improved conditions with their past struggles.
"The biggest beneficiaries of the Modi Government's welfare initiatives have been SCs, STs, OBCs. During the previous government's rule, the SC and ST communities used to lead undignified lives...they used to live in dilapidated houses with no basic amenities available at their disposal. They had lost all hopes from the government. But now, Modi's Guarantee has restored their faith in the government!" he said.
Agricultural and Economic Initiatives
PM Modi highlighted his government’s efforts in promoting cooperative movements and millets globally, benefiting local farmers with increased opportunities.
"NDA Government is expanding the scope of cooperative movement. Also, we have taken up the initiative of taking millets to the markets across the world. This very step will immensely benefit the farmers of Chikkaballapur and Kolar... It will empower our farmers by increasing the income-generating opportunities for them," he said.
Infrastructure Development
PM Modi pointed out significant improvements in infrastructure, particularly in the expansion of national highways and the establishment of Special Economic Zones in Karnataka.
"Building modern infrastructure in Karnataka has been our priority. In the last ten years, the number of National Highways in Karnataka have increased from 25 to 49! Also, the establishment of Special Economic Zone in this region has opened new avenues of employment," PM Modi said.
Water Conservation and Tap Water Provision
He also highlighted substantial advancements in water conservation and the successful provision of tap water connections to households in the region.
"As a great water conservation measure, we have constructed 150 Amrit Sarovars in the region. Around 2 lakh 70 thousand households in Chikkaballapur and Kolar have got tap water connections under the NDA government," the Prime Minister said.
