Airport Infrastructure

PM Modi will inaugurate the New Terminal Building at Tuticorin Airport, developed at a cost of Rs 450 crore.

Spread across 17,340 square meters, the terminal has been designed to handle 1,350 passengers during peak hours and up to 25 lakh passengers annually in the future.

It incorporates sustainable features such as 100 per cent LED lighting, energy-efficient systems, and water recycling, and is targeting a GRIHA-4 rating.

Road Connectivity

Two major highway projects will be dedicated to the nation, including the four-laning of the 50 km Sethiyathope-Cholapuram section of NH-36, constructed at a cost of over Rs 2,350 crore under the Vikravandi-Thanjavur Economic Corridor.

Two more segments, the 12.87 km Aralvaymozhi–Nagercoil Junction section and the 3.6 km Tirunelveli–Melappalayam section, have also been doubled to facilitate smoother train movement on key southern routes.

Power Transmission
