With Tamil Nadu’s 2026 Assembly elections looming, political strategist Prashant Kishor met with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay at his residence in Neelankarai on Monday (10 February).
The two-hour-long discussion, attended by senior TVK functionaries and advisors, has sparked intense political speculation, reported Hindustan Times.
Vijay, who launched TVK last year at the peak of his Tamil cinema career, is set to make his electoral debut in 2026. His political ambitions have drawn sharp interest, and Kishor’s involvement suggests a serious push towards shaping TVK’s electoral strategy.
The Hindustan Times report quoted an anonymous source to say: “He (Kishor) is likely to be the special advisor to Vijay for the 2026 elections. He will help chart out our political strategies,” the person said.
This development follows the recent induction of Aadhav Arjuna, a former leader of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), a DMK ally. Arjuna was suspended by VCK after criticising the ruling DMK, whom Vijay has openly described as his political enemy.
Now serving as TVK’s General Secretary (Election Campaign Management), Arjuna is expected to play a key role in structuring TVK’s campaign.
It was Arjuna, who also runs a political strategy firm, that facilitated the meeting between Vijay and Kishor.
Vijay’s political positioning also remains a point of interest—while he has made his opposition to DMK clear, he has also projected himself as an ideological rival to the BJP.
With Tamil Nadu’s political landscape evolving rapidly, this high-profile meeting hints at a shift in electoral dynamics.
As Vijay readies himself for his first electoral test, all eyes will be on how Prashant Kishor’s expertise shapes TVK’s strategy in the run-up to 2026.
