A slight modification was made in the regulation of darshan lines inside the temple of Lord Venkateswara on Sunday (11 June). It turned out to be highly rewarding for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), as a record number of 92,238 devotees had the darshan of Lord Venkateswara in a single day.

This number is considered to be the highest ever achieved in recent years.

TTD achieved this unique feat by allowing a single queue line from the Silver gate, which is located at the Dwajasthambam, into the sanctum sanctorum, reports The Hindu.

It is worth mentioning that of the total number of devotees, over 70,000 pilgrims had the darshan in the sarva darshan queue lines.

The Silver gate is seen as the bottle-neck because the incoming and out-going darshan lines intersect at this point.

Following the encouraging results, TTD Executive Officer A V Dharma Reddy expressed his elation and commitment to continuously monitor the changes to facilitate Darshan for a maximum number of devotees.

Reddy said that he would hereafter constantly monitor the changes that shall be periodically ushered in the regulation of the darshan lines to suit the needs of the day and strive facilitating darshan for a maximum number of devotees visiting the sacred shrine, The Hindu reported.
