UPSC Recruitment 2025: 230 Vacancies Announced In EPFO For EO/AO And APFC Posts—All About It

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a major recruitment drive for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Through its Special Advertisement No. 52/2025, the Commission is inviting online applications for 230 posts, including Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer (EO/AO) and Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner.

The application window opens on 29 July 2025 and will close on 18 August 2025, at 11:59 PM.

 Vacancy Details

A total of 156 posts have been announced for the position of EO/AO, while 74 posts are available for the role of APFC.

These posts are distributed across different categories including UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

The EO/AO post falls under Group ‘B’ (Non-Ministerial), while the APFC post is classified as Group ‘A’ (Non-Ministerial). Both posts are permanent in nature.

Eligibility Criteria

For EO/AO, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university. For the APFC post, a Bachelor’s degree is essential, with a diploma in Company Law, Labour Laws or Public Administration listed as desirable.

The age limit for EO/AO is 30 years for UR/EWS, 33 for OBC, 35 for SC/ST, and 40 for PwBD.

For APFC, the age limits are 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 for OBC, 40 for SC, 35 for ST, and 45 for PwBD candidates.

Additional age relaxations apply for government employees and other eligible categories.

Selection Process

The selection process includes a pen and paper-based Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) followed by a personal interview.

The CRT will be a two-hour objective test, conducted in both English and Hindi. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

 Labour laws and social security

 Principles of accountancy and auditing

 Elementary maths and mental ability

 General science and computer basics

 Current affairs (national and international)

The final merit list will be prepared using a 75:25 ratio between CRT and interview scores.

The application fee is Rs 25 for candidates applying to a single post and Rs 50 for those applying to both EO/AO and APFC. Women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from payment.

Job Responsibilities and Pay Scale

The selected candidates will be posted in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and will be involved in various regulatory and administrative functions.

EO/AO: Classified as Group "B", Non-Ministerial, with Pay Level-08 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

APFC: Classified as Group "A", Non-Ministerial, with Pay Level-10 as per the 7th CPC.

Exam Centres and Other Guidelines

The recruitment test will be conducted across 78 exam centres nationwide. Centres will be allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis, and no request for change of centre will be entertained later.
