Mumbai-based engineering conglomerate CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited has secured an order for supply of components of Vande Bharat Trainsets.

The order was awarded by Indian-Russian joint venture Kinet Railway Solutions, which is manufacturing 120 Vande Bharat trainsets for the Indian Railways.

Kinet Railway Solutions was formed in September 2023 as a joint venture between state-owned project company Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (which holds a 25 per cent equity stake) and TMH subsidiaries Metrowagonmash and Locomotive Electronic Systems with 70 per cent and 5 per cent respectively.

"CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd (CG) has entered into a long-term supply agreement with Kinet Railway Solutions Limited for supply and servicing of railway products including propulsion kits with motors, transformers and various other items," the company said in a statement.

"As part of this agreement, the first purchase order, ranging between Rs 400 crores to Rs 450 crores, has been secured by the company for the supply of railway products for 10 Vande Bharat trainsets. Apart from this purchase order, a separate 35-year service order is also a part of the said long-term agreement," it added.

CG Power manufactures traction motors, propulsion systems, signalling relays etc., for the Indian Railways.
