Social media platform X has reportedly shared the IP address in Telangana from where the first doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah was uploaded on social media.

This comes after the Delhi police had asked X to share the exact IP address, from where the video was uploaded for the first time, Indian Express reported.

The police had registered an FIR over the doctored video regarding reservations for SCs, STs and OBCs after a complaint was lodged on 28 April.

The police summoned around 24 persons during the probe, including the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and asked them to join the investigation.

Among those summoned, five were from Telangana, one from Jharkhand, one from Nagaland Congress party, and another from Samajwadi Party.

“The investigation officer, in the meantime, sent a query to X, asking them to share the exact IP address, from where the video was uploaded for the first time. They have shared a landline IP address of the originator,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

A team of Delhi Police stationed in Telangana encountered a setback in their efforts to apprehend four Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) members - Shiva Kumar Ambala, Asma Tasleem, Satish Manne, and Naveen Pettem.

According to the IE report, the Delhi Police on Wednesday night got to know that the Telangana Police had registered an FIR on 27 April and picked all the four suspects for questioning.

“Delhi Police are now planning to summon them after serving a notice under Section 41 (notice of appearance before police officer) of the CrPC, and planning to issue non-bailable warrant against them,” a source was quoted as saying in the IE report.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has been informed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s advocate that he had no role in creating or spreading the doctored video.

Further, Reddy's lawyer informed that he did not have any information regarding who created the video.
