Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 501 development projects worth over Rs 676 crore in Deoria district.
At the ceremony, CM Adityanath highlighted the state’s transformation under the double-engine government and Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and developed India.
Among the key projects inaugurated were four faculty residences at the Government Degree College in Bhatpar and the initiation of construction for a new nursing college, adjoining the Deoraha Baba Medical College, a UP government press release noted.
Health, vocational training, AYUSH, and child protection sectors also saw a major boost through launch of multiple schemes.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that diseases like encephalitis, malaria, dengue, kala-azar, or chikungunya no longer define Uttar Pradesh.
Instead, the state is now being identified by its development in the form of highways, railways, metros, ropeways, and inland waterways, he added.
CM Yogi also distributed benefits under a slew of government welfare schemes, including housing allotments, land lease certificates, tractors, and pension cheques.
Additionally, he honoured meritorious students and allocated Rs 7.87 crore to various self-help groups.
Among the significant announcements was the opening of Deoria district’s degree college offering courses across arts, science, and commerce streams.
A new college has also been proposed for Pathardeva, along with an auditorium planned for Gauri Bazar, aimed at enhancing local educational and cultural infrastructure.
CM Adityanath also highlighted key infrastructure upgrades, especially in road connectivity.
He noted that a four-lane highway is currently under construction between Deoria and Gorakhpur, which will significantly improve access to Delhi.
Similar four-lane expansions are underway on the Deoria–Ballia and Deoria–Kasia–Padrauna routes, promising better connectivity across eastern Uttar Pradesh.
