Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday (10 July) distributed appointment letters to 7,720 newly selected 'Lekhpals' during the Mission Employment programme held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow.

On this occasion, CM Yogi announced that the recruitment process for an additional 4,700 positions of Lekhpals would be completed soon, with the requisition already sent to the commission.

This step aims to address the shortage of Lekhpals in the state.

He also urged the newly appointed officials to perform their duties with utmost honesty and transparency.

Yogi emphasised that the recruitment process was conducted with complete integrity and transparency, free from any discrimination or the need for recommendations.

He stressed that it is now the responsibility of the newly appointed revenue inspectors to work towards facilitating ease of doing business in the state and to particularly focus on improving the lives of the poor.

Addressing the revenue inspectors, CM Yogi highlighted the importance of their positive contribution to investment opportunities.

He underscored the need to adhere to the timelines for issuing caste, residence, and income certificates, and to ensure that actions related to inheritance, mutation, measurement, and land use are completed promptly.

He also encouraged them to build a good reputation among the people and ensure that the name of a Lekhpal does not evoke fear.

CM Yogi pointed out that violent incidents often occur over small pieces of land in rural and urban areas, and that timely measurement and demarcation can prevent such disputes.

He also directed the new officers to take prompt and decisive actions against any powerful land mafias encroaching on government or poor people’s land, in collaboration with the anti-land mafia task force.

The Chief Minister also emphasised the timely facilitation of investment proposals and providing relief to people during disasters like floods.

He advised the new against any improper activities and recommended the use of technology.
