Former election strategist Prashant Kishor targeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the demand for special state status during his Jan Suraj Yatra in Darbhanga.

According to Jagran, Prashant Kishor stated on Monday (11 December) that when Nitish Kumar was with Prime Minister Modi, he never uttered a word about granting special state status.

"JDU leaders were calling Modi mahamanav (superhuman) in Parliament. Nitish didn't raise the issue then. However, as soon as Nitish joined the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), his tune changed, and now he demands special state status," Kishor said.

Notably, the Bihar Cabinet approved a resolution last month advocating for the state to be granted "special category status." Kumar asserted that if Bihar is granted special state status, the welfare projects could be accomplished in a much shorter timeframe.

Kishor continued saying that if Kumar decides to join the BJP again, he will dismiss all these demands as non-issues. He mentioned that now Kumar has turned 75 and says anything because he is overwhelmed socially and politically.

Kishor pointed out that Kumar's speech on 'sex education' in the assembly made him a laughing stock and when he apologised the next day, it was unclear whether he was happy or sad.

Kishor suggested that Nitish Kumar is now alone and hence feeling anxious, leading him to say anything in this state of uncertainty.
