Several leaders of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), including the Executive State President Manjeet Singh and the State President of the Minority wing Arif Mahmood, resigned from the party along with other leaders.

Speculations are rife that both leaders may join the BJP. Following their resignations, both leaders stated that they will soon announce the next steps after consulting with their supporters and other leaders who have resigned.

According to Jagran, Manjeet Singh alleged that RLD is no longer a party for farmers and laborers. He mentioned that Jayant Chaudhary, after becoming a member of the Rajya Sabha, has not visited Lucknow even once.

Arif Mahmood claimed that there is no representation for Muslims in the party, and Jayant Chaudhary was invited to the party office in Lucknow for an Iftar party, but neither did he attend nor allow the program to take place.

Leaders resigning include the State Spokesperson Ved Prakash Shastri and Ashish Tiwari along with leaders from various other departments. Rohit Agrawal, the president of the Trade Department, said that people keep coming and going in the party.
