Milk and Dairy Development Minister Mano Thangaraj has said that allegations of the Ambattur plant of the state owned dairy cooperative Aavin have been found to be untrue.
A video uploaded by Tamil YouTube channel RedPix shows minors of varying ages working in an Aavin factory. The Aadhar cards of some of them are also shown.
In the video, the minors say that they had worked in the factory to meet their expenses and had not received the wages due to them.
Speaking to mediapersons, Thangaraj said that the police and Collector had conducted inquiries and found that child labour was not employed.
Further, he said that legal notices would be sent to the media houses.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai said that the minister was trying to cover up the matter and demanded strict action against the accused.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
