1. Who really is Manoj Jarange Patil?

Those of us outside Maharashtra haven't realised but the politics around Maratha reservation has turned more intense in the last ten days, and not necessarily in a good way. Crude personal remarks have been made on Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Brahmin community of the state.

The man at the centre of it all is Manoj Jarange.

But who really is Jarange, and how did he acquire leadership of a movement that was virtually self-driven and self-regulatory till even four-five years back? Equally important, what is the truth behind the speculation that he is Sharad Pawar's man but outside the latter's party?

2. What does notification of rules actually mean?

If reports are correct, the CAA is about to be implemented in the country in the next few days. The rules for the same are about to be notified. But when we say that 'rules will be notified' what does that actually mean on the ground?
