'Jai Shri Ram' Echoes Heard Deep Inside The Jungles Of Chhattisgarh
Dear Reader,
The town of Dharamjaigarh, located about six hours from Raipur, is witnessing significant changes, particularly in its efforts to integrate tribal communities like the Birhors into mainstream society. Previously isolated, with no proper roads or access to basic amenities, the area is now seeing development initiatives and changes in lifestyle.
The Birhors, a nomadic tribe residing in the nearby Khalbora village, used to hunt wild animals like monkeys for food. However, with encouragement from government officials and Hindu organisations, they have given up such practices.
The villagers are enthusiastic about these changes and are celebrating events like the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Many locals have had the opportunity to visit Ayodhya and express their devotion to Lord Ram.
To know more about them read this freshly minted ground report from my senior collegue Sharan: https://swarajyamag.com/reports/jai-shri-ram-echoes-heard-deep-inside-the-jungles-of-chhattisgarh-swarajyas-ground-report
Until next time.
