In India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of India’s Modern Military Heroes, Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh provide an intimate look into 14 tales of modern military valour and courage. Painstakingly researched with unparalleled access to the military, the book is a must buy for all those who are interested in military history.
This book is especially important, given the lack of authoritative fiction and non fiction military literature in India. It details the personal stories of the fearless soldiers that made history. From the legendary 2016 surgical strikes in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to the bleeding Air Force pilot, who found himself flying a jet that had become a screaming fireball. These stories put the reader front and centre in the shoes of the sons of the soil that protect India’s borders but don’t often get the regard that they deserve.
In order to discuss this and more, Swarajya sat down with Shiv Aroor, one of the co-authors of this book where we discussed the surgical strikes, defence journalism and documentaries.
Aroor is an award winning journalist. He is an editor and senior anchor with India Today TV. He also runs a defence news website – LiveFist.
