On Wednesday (22 September),in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP election in-charge for the BJP, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting with the prominent faces of the organization, to discuss and plan for the party's return to power in the state.
The highlights
According to reports, one of the points agreed upon in the meeting was that the BJP would lay emphasis on PM Modi's name and CM Yogi's work. In this meeting chaired by State BJP President Swatantradev Singh, along with discussion on the current programmes and campaigns of the party, the party leadership brainstormed on the future roadmap for the party.
On the lines of the organization in-charges, the election in-charges were also handed responsibilities for different areas.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the achievements of the state government, be it their Covid management, or the Ujjwala 2.0 recently initiated in UP. He said that information about the works of the central and the state government must reach door-to-door.
Swatantra Dev Singh hailed the work done in UP by PM Modi's central government, and CM Yogi's state government. He said that the cabinet ministers and the workers of the organisation need to rapidly take these works to the voters.
Radhamohan Singh, BJP's state in-charge, requested the workers to familiarise every household with the name and works of the Modi-Yogi duo.
A high-profile meet
In the first meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma, besides Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Sanjeev Balyan, SP Singh Baghel, Shobha Karandlaje, Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey, State Cabinet Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Ramapati Ram Tripathi and some other ministers with independent charges were present.
Many regional in-charges, namely Sanjay Bhatia (West Zone), Sudhir Gupta (Kanpur), Arvind Menon (Gorakhpur), Sanjeev Chaurasia (Braj), Satya Kumar(Awadh), Sunil Ojha (Kashi), and others were also present.
In the second meeting, besides national office bearers from UP, election in-charges, organization in-charges, regional in-charges, state general secretary and many others were involved in preparing a blue-print to secure power for the second time in a row in the upcoming assembly elections.
The various rounds of discussions and meetings on the same will continue on Thursday (23 September).
