  • 28 assembly seats are going for bypolls in Madhya Pradesh, and 22 of these are of the MLAs who followed Jyotiraditya Scindia into BJP from Congress.
  • Here, the local media has reported that even patches and stretches, where people are miffed with him, the emotion for his grandmother will stand by Scindia.
  • Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia's birth centenary was marked in a special ceremony last week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself led the virtual celebrations.

He released a special commemorative coin of 100 rupees in honour of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia and said that he is fortunate to do so.

He said that he was introduced to her views, writing and vision through her book as a youth leader of Gujarat and today after so many years, he is serving as the 'Pradhan Sevak' of the country.

This reference from PM Modi is particularly important. Mentioning his connection with Rajmata Scindia's vision and thoughts as a youth leader, he helps establish a connection between a respected elder at the helm of the Jansangh family and party workers across two generations.

Concealed in it is a point on his rise from the grassroot to the helm of leadership in the party, as well as the nation. Being guided by the virtues and vision of some of the greatest Hindutva leaders and serving people has its own rewards. The message is not lost.

Just as he was dedicated to the party in his days as a young leader in Gujarat, many, today, are serving the party influenced by the vision and thoughts of the first generation beacons of the Jan Sangh.

They represent all walks of life and are working on ground in Madhya Pradesh and other states.

Madhya Pradesh is set to witness bypolls. The political event is taking place in Rajmata Scindia's centenary year.

Another remarkable event has taken place this year. The exit of the grandson of Rajmata Scindia from Congress and his joining the Bharatiya Janata Party earlier this year.

He was welcomed with warmth and with open arms. BJP was winning the moment every way. The dynasty scion was back into the family fold in two ways.

He had not only joined the party his grandmother, revered by workers across the ladder in BJP, had founded, but joined the organisation that his paternal aunts are currently serving actively.

His association with BJP and exit from Congress happened on the day of his father Late Madhav Rao Scindia's birth anniversary. His exit from Congress also saw 22 MLAs leaving the party in his support. This has a parallel in the past.

Rajmata Scindia had made an exit from Congress with 36 MLAs. This had led to the crumbling of the then DP Mishra government in Madhya Pradesh. Her grandson would shake the Kamal Nath government towards its fall. And he is set to gain from the respect and reverence her grandmother Rajmata Scindia commands in the organisation, party and family that BJP is.

The local media has reported that even patches and stretches, where people are miffed with him, the emotion for his grandmother will stand by him. One such stretch is the Gwalior Chambal belt, but Scindia seems ready to blend energies to bring change.

With CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan leading the attack on former chief minister Kamal Nath and Congress, the Scindia scion is using the new found space and confidence in public rallies.

The BJP has given a ticket to all 22 MLAs who had left Congress in their support for Jyotiraditya Scindia.

    Cut to the national scene.

PM Modi added that she proved that for people's representatives 'Jan Seva' and not 'Raj Satta' is important.

The state media is clinging to some small joys. A section has reported that the Scindia scion is "being shown his actual stature" and being indirectly told that the stature of his grandmother Rajmata Scindia is much bigger (than his).

Sections of the media have also been keeping track of leaders who are "angry" regarding his entry in BJP. But, they also say that Rajmata Scindia's name works as a balm on those who are angry with her grandson's entry in the party and his increasing presence. So, everyone is fighting and surging ahead in unity -- driven by the popularity of Rajmata Scindia and their respect for her. Advantage BJP. Advantage Jyotiraditya Scindia.
