Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Abhishek Banerjee, who also serves as the party's national general secretary, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday (13 September) for questioning regarding the alleged school jobs scam in West Bengal.
Banerjee arrived at the ED office at approximately 11.30am, according to media reports.
ED officials have summoned Banerjee to provide evidence and answer questions related to the alleged irregularities in school recruitment in West Bengal.
The investigation into the scam has been ongoing, and Banerjee's appearance before the ED is seen as a significant development in the case.
As a result of his ED summons, Banerjee was unable to attend the coordination committee meeting of the opposition bloc INDIA, which was scheduled to take place in Delhi on the same day.
The school jobs scam has been a matter of concern in West Bengal, and Banerjee's involvement in the investigation is expected to shed light on the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
Further developments in this case are awaited as the investigation continues.
