India’s Janata Curfew, a 14-hour lockdown in the country, was accomplished smoothly on Sunday, 22 March. And though it was the right way to go given how, one, social distancing holds the key, and, two, there is a need to buck the trend of a steep, upward rise in cases, as seen in other countries, one can’t help but think what additional impact on the economy there will be with each passing day.
This also raises the important subject of what the relief measures will look like whenever they’re slated to be out. We’ll touch upon this and other points on today’s episode of Swarajya Standard.
Our guest today is Swarajya editorial director, R Jagannathan.
