In a big win for India's G20 Presidency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (9 September) announced the adoption of New Delhi G20 Leaders' Summit Declaration.
"I have received good news. Due to the hard work of our team, consensus has been built on New Delhi G20 Leaders' Summit Declaration. My proposal is to adopt this leadership declaration," PM Modi said while chairing the G20 Summit.
"I announce that the Declaration has been adopted," PM Modi said after receiving nod from the leaders present on the occasion.
"On this occasion, I want to thank all our ministers, sherpas, and all the officials who worked hard to make this declaration possible," he added.
Earlier on Friday (8 September), India's G20 sherpa Amitabh Kant had said that the New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration of G20 was almost ready and would be presented before the grouping’s leaders to secure a consensus, reports Livemint.
