Days before the global debut of the iPhone 17 series, Apple marked a major milestone in India.

According to a Bloomberg report, the tech giant crossed $9 billion in sales in India during the last fiscal year.

Most of the revenue was driven by Apple’s flagship iPhone, which now makes up 7 per cent of India’s smartphone market, according to data from Counterpoint Research, Indian Express reported.

However, rising demand for MacBooks also contributed significantly to Apple's sales.

From March 2024 to March 2025, Apple’s India revenue rose 13 per cent—from $8 billion to $9 billion.

The sharp increase highlights strong consumer demand as Apple expands its retail presence, signaling India’s rise as a key market.

This growth contrasts with Apple’s struggles in other regions.

In China, sales slowed as rivals like Xiaomi gained ground amid geopolitical tensions. Still, Apple posted a 4.4 per cent revenue rise in China in the June 2025 quarter, marking recovery after two years.

Meanwhile, Apple's India revenue has grown 1.5 times in the last three years.

In three years, Apple’s revenue in India has grown 1.5 times. India is also key to Apple's manufacturing push, with 20 per cent of all iPhones now produced in the country.

New facilities in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are part of Apple’s five-factory India expansion plan.

Apple is also expected to manufacture all four models of the upcoming iPhone 17 domestically, underscoring India’s growing role in its global supply chain.
