Reliance Model Economic Township (MET) in Haryana had a successful FY 2022-23 and is emerging as North India's fastest-growing smart city.

In the year, the city welcomed 450 companies and seven international brands. Additionally, over 2,000 residential plots were sold for individual homes, broadening the city's horizon, as per a release.

MET City — an integrated smart city, has been developed by Model Economic Township Limited (METL) — a 100 per cent subsidiary of Reliance Industries. The city aims to provide world-class infrastructure and offers 'Walk to Work' benefit to the people.

In its industrial sector, 76 new companies were added, resulting in an investment of around Rs 1,200 crore and creating employment potential for up to 8,000, reports ET Infra.

These include Hamdard, Boditech form South Korea, and Nihon Kohden from Japan.

Additionally, three phases of residential plotted development have been successfully launched, attracting over 1,200 new customers.

Reliance's Model Economic Township

MET City, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited — is a Greenfield Smart city spanning over 8,000 acres of land in Jhajjar district near Gurugram, Haryana.

The city invested Rs 8,800 crore on land and infrastructure for its phase-1 and has acquired licenses for 1900 acres. It has launched five industrial sectors, three pockets of residential plotted developments, and two SCO projects.

Till date, Reliance MET City has drawn significant investments and provided employment to over 25,000 people from various companies, as per the release.

This project is strategically well positioned on SH 15-A and near a rail freight terminal and DFC corridor.

As per reports, over 450 companies — including top national and international corporations, have established themselves in MET City — citing its plug-n-play infrastructure and strategic location with easy access to the National Capital Region (NCR).
