As the #MeToo storm brews, corporates are now reportedly looking into old cases of sexual harassment against their employees, as reported by ET.

The movement will have a significant impact on the corporations that have not taken past allegations seriously and haven’t made adequate efforts to conduct a thorough investigation, burying cases in the process.

A case being revisited is said to be that of a multinational bank's CFO who got a clean chit from an internal investigations panel in 2013. The bank is presently revisiting the charges made by a former employee against the official.

A letter written by the employee had stated that the CFO used to harass her and nine other employees in the department. The bank has chosen to get legal advisors and forensic experts to investigate the issue.

Forensic investigators are now determining the status of the charges while legal advisors are being requested to decide if any inappropriate behaviour occurred. The organisations and banks likewise need legal investigators to check whether they "passed up anything" and lawyers to guide them in responding if the victims were to go public with the allegations, said a person who wished to remain anonymous.
