Business Television India (BTVI), a prominent English language business news channel, has suspended its operations, even after showing surging ratings in previous months.
The channel, owned by industrialist Anil Ambani, had in fact clinched the second rank in the English business news category. It issued a statement on social media thanking its supporters for the success it had achieved so far.
A heartfelt thanks to our followers and viewers.

It is not yet certain whether the channel will close down all its media operations permanently, or whether it might recommence some operations if a change of ownership takes place.
Recent months have been turbulent for the media industry, with Kapil Sibal backed Tiranga TV completely shuttering operations, and others like Scroll terminating a large number of employees.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
